While Youâre in the Area
If youâre not already familiar with our community, consider exploring the surrounding area while youâre in town for your college visit.
Often called a hidden gem of central Iowa, Indianola is a charming town with great pizza joints, boutique stores, and other shops, all within a few blocks from campus. Indianola is also home to the Des Moines Metro Opera, Buxton Park Arboretum, and the National Balloon Classic.
The tourism boardâs slogan says it best. âDes Moines: Only the Sâs Are Silent.â As Iowaâs capital and the fastest-growing metro in the Midwest, thereâs so much to experience: art, history, music, food, parks, adventure.
