Ā鶹APP Productions presents Jen Silverman’s The Moors

Ā鶹APP Productions, the theatre, opera, and musical theatre collaboration at Ā鶹APP, presents Jen Silverman’s The Moors as their first production for the 2024/25 season on Oct. 10-12. Presented in the intimate Barnum Studio Theatre, The Moors is a dark comedy about love, desperation and visibility.

Performances are in the Blank Performing Arts Center at Ā鶹APP on October 10-12 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $9.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors and non-Ā鶹APP students, $6.50 for group (10 or more) tickets, and free for Ā鶹APP students and employees with IDs.

The Moors is about two sisters and a dog who live out their lives on the bleak English moors, and dream of love and power. The arrival of a hapless governess and a moor-hen set all three on a strange and dangerous path.

Silverman was inspired by the Brontë Letters when they wrote the play and had been reading Charlotte BronteĢˆā€™s letters for months prior. The theatrical language of the letters inspired Silverman and how they approached The Moors.

Silverman is a graduate of the Iowa Playwright’s Workshop. Their play The Roommate is running on Broadway and stars Mia Farrow and Patti LuPone.
Ā鶹APP Productions is excited to welcome guest artists Jenn Allton as the fight and intimacy director and Anna Lackaff as the music director.
